Today’s Japanese Cooking Recipe is called Spinach Curry or ほうれん草カレー in Japanese. This is one of my family’s favorites and I think I’m going to make this tonight since the hubby bought a whole of them home this weekend. This is very easy to make and very delicious, a little different from your ordinary curry. Enjoy. Let’s see what we need to make our Spinach Curry.
Ingredients
500g spinach
100g tofu
1 onion
2-3 bay leaf
1 tbsp cumin seeds
pinch of salt and pepper
¾ tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 cup garam masala
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp red chili powder
1 tbsp cumin powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
2 tomatoes diced
Instructions
Blend spinach in mixer.
Cut the tofu into dice, and fry briefly.
Heat 2 tbsp. oil, fry the bay leaf and cumin seeds , add the chopped onion and fry until soft.
Add the salt and spices, stir well, and add the tomatoes.
Add the tofu and spinach and mix well.

I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and now living in Osaka, Japan. I have been in Japan for about 12 yrs now and loving every single moment of my life here in a beautiful country. I’m a English teacher here in Japan and on spare I'm a Food blogger, and gamer. I have been cooking for the pass 15 years, but still not at the level that I want to be. In the pass 4 – 5 years wanting to learn more about Japanese food and how they prepared them as an art form instead of something there for you to eat.
