Hello Everyone. Finally the sun is out and looks like it’s going to be a great week. Recently I have been getting request for bento recipes and I think I will be post some recipe for bentos. Making a main, a sub recipe, and a dessert for each bento. When we can get our video camera working again, my hubby has been working on food scripts on “How-To’s” on some Japanese Bento making. He’s been practicing in the kitchen making sure he’s ready for the real deal. So hopefully we can get these video up for you all soon.
So let’s see what I got cooking in the kitchen today.
- ¼ Cabbage
- 200g Sliced Pork
- 1 tbsp. Flour
- 1 Beaten Egg
- 1 tbsp. Sesame Oil
- ½ tsp. Salt
- ½ tsp. Pepper
- For Dressing
- 2 tbsp. Lemon Juice
- ½ tsp. Sugar
- ½ tsp. Soy Sauce
- ½ Salt
- 1tbsp Sesame Oil
- Cut the cabbage into julienne strips. Combine the ingredients of dressing and mix well.
- Sprinkle the salt and pepper on the pork, coat the flour.
- Heat the sesame oil into a frying pan, dip the pork in the beaten egg and cook. Until crispy both side.
- Combine the cabbage and pork and pour all over the dressing.
This looks absolutely delicious! I look forward to seeing your bento recipes…..I think bentos are so beautiful. Delicious and artistic at the same time!
Hi, Naoko. Your pork pikata recipe looks delicious. I am anxious to try it as a main course — and cabbage is in season here now.

Thanks for your recipe! Bento recipes are so important to me. I need to cook some and bring to school. We have a microwave there. Can you introduce something delicious even reheated by microwave?
Thank you so much
Wow looks great…wish we could smell through the internet…I’m sure that will happen soon enough 🙂
