Hello Everyone.  Finally the sun is out and looks like it’s going to be a great week.  Recently I have been getting request for bento recipes and I think I will be post some recipe for bentos.  Making a main, a sub recipe, and a dessert for each bento.  When we can get our video camera working again, my hubby has been working on food scripts on “How-To’s” on some Japanese Bento making.  He’s been practicing in the kitchen making sure he’s ready for the real deal.  So hopefully we can get these video up for you all soon.

So let’s see what I got cooking in the kitchen today.

Here on Cooking Japanese Style we have a recipe called Pork Pikata Salad or ポークピカタサラダ in Japanese. You can eat this dish as a Main Dish or a salad to compliment a Main Dish. I made this 2 days ago and we had this as our main dish. It’s been a while since I made this for the family and it’s very delicious and simple to make. I have also added the dressing recipe for this dish too. Enjoy and Keep on Cooking.
Ingredients
  • ¼ Cabbage
  • 200g Sliced Pork
  • 1 tbsp. Flour
  • 1 Beaten Egg
  • 1 tbsp. Sesame Oil
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • ½ tsp. Pepper
  • For Dressing
  • 2 tbsp. Lemon Juice
  • ½ tsp. Sugar
  • ½ tsp. Soy Sauce
  • ½ Salt
  • 1tbsp Sesame Oil

Instructions
  1. Cut the cabbage into julienne strips. Combine the ingredients of dressing and mix well.
  2. Sprinkle the salt and pepper on the pork, coat the flour.
  3. Heat the sesame oil into a frying pan, dip the pork in the beaten egg and cook. Until crispy both side.
  4. Combine the cabbage and pork and pour all over the dressing.
