Cooked Rice ごはん

Well, todays Japanese Cooking Style is called Cooked Rice or ごはん in Japanese. A lot of people have many ways of making or cooking there rice. Some people use a Rice Cooker and some use a pot and cook their rice on the stove. We use a rice cooker, but this recipe is for the people who the pot on the stove. Enjoy
Ingredients
  • 2 cup rice- KOSHI HIKARI, SASA NISHIKI, AKITA KOMACHI, etc.
  • 2-2.5 cup water

Instructions
  1. Place the rice in a large bowl, fill with cold water and stir rice, discard the water.
  2. Rub the grains gently against each other with the heel of your hand, rinse under cold running water and drain, and continue rubbing and rinsing until the water becomes clear.
  3. Soak the rice in cold water for about 15 min, and drain in a strainer, and let stand for 15 min.
  4. Place the washed rice in a pan; add the same amount water to pan as rice. Cover the pan and turn the heat on high, bring to a boil and simmer for 10-12 min over a low heat. Turn off the heat and let stand for about 10min, remove the lid and stir the rice.
